Write a dialogue in which characters are debating about their favorite food while using new vocabulary words.
This not only encourages descriptive writing but also pushes students to think about how to use new words in conversation. Understanding and using their new vocabulary in context, as well as understanding various perspectives in a debate, are critical skills for 3rd graders to develop.
