Examine their initial denial, the struggle to accept, and their journey towards embracing this role. A character who is ‘chosen’ has to grapple with accepting the fact that they no longer live for themselves alone but carry the weight of others’ expectations – a significant metaphor for the universal adolescent realization of responsibilities and obligations attached to becoming an adult.
