Invisible Wounds

Write about a perceived slight or injury your character received as a child which still influences them as an adult.

This unaddressed or unnoticed hurt from their past is often a major driving force in a character’s motive, beliefs, and actions. The slight might even be minor from an outsider’s perspective, but in the character’s mind, it grows to take on significant proportions. Describing this incident, how it was handled then and its impact over time, will give depth and complexity to the characters and reveal their vulnerabilities.
