What does it want? Why can’t anyone see it? Can it touch, cause physical harm or manipulate the environment? Does it just want to incite fear or does it have a more sinister purpose? This prompt encourages inventiveness, tension building, and exploration of fear of the unknown. It also allows writers to experiment with creating horror through suggestion and atmosphere, rather than explicit creature descriptions.
