The Overshadowed Suspect

Write a mystery where the most obvious suspect, through multiple shreds of evidence, is not the godfather.

The main character believes they’ve cornered the culprit, but is that the whole story? This prompt will challenge your ability to create layers of mystery and suspense, using the technique of a red herring to build intrigue and keep readers on their toes. Themes include mistaken identity, misjudgement, and the surprising nature of truth.
