Problem-solving is a critical cognitive ability. By asking them to recall a time they solved a challenging puzzle or problem, the students need to reflect on their thought process, the steps they took, and how they felt during the entire experience. This encourages critical thinking, reflection, self-evaluation of problem-solving skills and improves their narrative writing abilities.
