Gods Among Us

Imagine, like in ‘American Gods’, that ancient gods and deities live among us, navigating the trials and tribulations of modern life.

A central theme in many of Gaiman’s works, including ‘American Gods’, is the coexistence and interaction of divinity and humanity. How would an ancient god manage the cacophonous world of social media, or a deity of harvest cope with industrial farming? What conflicts might arise from their adaptation to, or rejection of, modern human life? This exercise works toward creating engaging character studies and highlighting the contrast between the mortal and the divine.
