Finding Closure

Include a subplot revolving around a character seeking closure from their past.

Despite the major drama occurring in the main plot, create a character—a main or secondary—who is silently seeking closure from a past event. This subplot offers an additional emotional layer to your story, lays the path for character growth, and can provide an undercurrent of tension that mirrors, contrasts, or compounds the tension in the main plot.
