Cryptic Coma

A protagonist awakes from a long coma, only to discover that he/she can now see the spirits of those who died in the hospital.

The eeriness of the medical environment coupled with the appearance of spirits offers an unique approach to traditional paranormal stories. How does the protagonist deal with this traumatic new reality? Why can they see these spirits and what do these spirits want? And how do they navigate the familiar yet altered reality after coming out of the coma?
