Awakening Mutation

Write about a character who wakes up one morning to find themselves with a moody, unpredictable mutation.

This engaging tale should inspire the writer to dig deep into the aspects of inward and outward change caused due to an anomaly. This mutation could be anything the imagination might conceive – color-shifting skin, psychic abilities, transformation into an alien life form, etc. Questions can arise regarding how society as a whole would react to such a transformation, especially if it became contagious, and how the character would handle it hypothetically.
