Describe the aftermath of a violent event from the perspective of the protagonist.
There’s more to violence in writing than the act itself. The aftermath of a violent event can provide just as much, if not more, terror and discomfort for both characters and readers. Flesh out your character’s reactions, the changes in their behaviour or thinking, and the atmosphere after the event. This prompt encourages exploring personal trauma, shock, guilt, and psychological impact without explicitly deliving into violent descriptions.
