Create a scenario where the person a character least expects ends up saving them.

Characters in stories often think they know who they can trust and who their real enemies are. But what if this belief is turned upside down when the most unexpected person becomes the savior? How does this twist affect the protagonist’s worldview? It’s a great plot device for exploring concepts of forgiveness, change, trust, and redemption.
