The Unknown Past

Incorporate a hidden past for your protagonist that they themselves were unaware of.

Your character’s actions are heavily influenced by their past experiences. But what if some of these experience were buried deep within their subconscious? Suddenly making them remember can throw off the trajectory of their life, adding a great plot twist to your novel. Developing this prompt further, you might explore what these past experiences are, how they come to light, and most importantly, how your character reconciles with them.
