The Exaggerated Encyclopedia

Pretend you’re writing an encyclopedia entry about mundane objects, but from the perspective of someone who has never seen such things before.

For instance, describe a toaster as a “slow motion bread-fire machine”, or shoes as “foot prisons”. This prompt encourages a playful perspective shift, seeing ordinary things in a new, surreal light. This can promote linguistic creativity, as well as discussions of perspective and everyday life.
