Write a story where a benign everyday object becomes a source of horror for the protagonist.

While the object does not harm anyone physically, its constant presence and peculiar behaviors are psychologically distressing. The object could start appearing at different locations, or perhaps it isn’t what it seems at first glance. Explore themes of paranoia, unnerving persistence, and a troubled past attached to the object. Probe into questions such as, why does the object torment the protagonist? What is its mystery?
