Pen Pal Adventure

Invent a pen pal from a foreign country, and write a letter describing your culture, family, and daily life.

This prompt will encourage students to think creatively about their own lives while also imagining themselves in someone else’s shoes. They can think about what their imaginary pen pal might find interesting, strange or wonderful about their life. This exercise fosters empathy, broadens perspective, and enriches understanding of diverse lives and cultures.
