Draw a picture and then write a story about what you see in your drawing.

Art can spawn endless stories and perspectives. With this prompt, encourage your students to firstly draw a picture – it could be an event, a character, or a place of their imagination. Then, based on this visual production, ask them to write a story. The aim here is to foster a connection between visual and linguistic creativity, and to develop narrative skills.
