Hometown Heroes

Choose a local hero from your town or city and write about what makes them a hero.

Not all heroes wear capes. This prompt will help students identify and appreciate their local heroes whether it be an activist, a firefighter, a nurse, or a teacher. They could discuss what constitutes a hero, why they look up to this person, and how their heroic actions have affected the community.
