Handing Down Heirlooms

Write about an heirloom or tradition passed down in your character’s family and its impact on them.

Family heirlooms or traditions can be a rich source of story material. Maybe it’s an old watch that’s sparked a penchant for punctuality or possibly a cooking tradition that’s led to an obsession with or revulsion for gourmet food. How the character perceives these traditions and legacies, whether they choose to embrace or reject them, can arm the reader with an understanding of the character’s identity and personal values.
