Fictional Autobiography

If you were a character from a book or movie, who would you be and why? Write an autobiography as if you were that character.

This prompt promotes both creativity and empathy. 7th graders will need to fully understand and embrace the character’s perspective, encouraging a deep analysis of character traits, behavior, and emotional state. It also introduces them to the concept of writing in first person, and underpins the significance of perception and contextual events in shaping a person’s life.
