Throughout the storyline, make your villain character act as though they are villainous for reasons society deems unforgivable. In the end, unveil their genuine motive; a greater good.
Your antagonist doesn’t always have to be a character that’s evil for the sake of being evil. Write from their perspective and slowly reveal that their ‘malevolent’ acts were actually targeted towards achieving something beneficial for many. This prompt provokes thought on moral ambiguity and introduces a gray area into what’s usually perceived in black and white.
