Eerie Echoes From A Forgotten Past

Write a story where a character discovers a terrifying secret about their past that changes their perception of reality.

Our past plays a significant part in our present reality and often, we remember things from a rose-tinted perspective. The character could unearth something like an old diary, photograph, or even bump into somebody from their past that throws a whole new horrifying light on their memories. This can be a study of how our perspectives of the past can change drastically based on new revelations.
