Building My Family

Write a sentence describing each member of your family.

Family can mean different things to different people, but it’s often the first group of individuals we interact with. This writing prompt nudges 1st graders to think about their family members and depict each one of them in just one sentence. The goal of this exercise is to practice simplicity in sentence structure, while also thinking about the significant people in their lives.
