Build a Monster

With a partner, each students draws a half of a made-up monster and then together they write a story about its adventures.

For ‘Build a Monster’, one student draws the top half while the other draws the bottom half of a monster. Then together, they craft a story about the creature’s origin and adventures. This prompt taps into both their artistic and literary abilities while teaching them collaboration and narrative building.
