Start with a single word or idea and form a “mind-map” of related topics, characters, or themes. Write about one of these offshoot ideas.
A mind-map or “brainstorming bubble” is a visual representation of the various threads or storylines that can extend from one concept. These maps not only encourage us to think outside the box but also serve as a springboard for creating compelling narratives. By identifying a seemingly minor or unrelated topic that sprouts from the original idea and developing it into a full-fledged story, we expand our narrative capabilities.
