A Day in the Zoo… As an Animal

If you were an animal in the zoo for a day, which animal would you be and what would you do?

This writing prompt allows children to start thinking from a different perspective; put themselves in someone else’s shoes – or in this case, paws or claws. They’ll get the chance to really think about their favorite animals, why they like them, and how it might feel to be them. This teaches empathy while also developing creativity.
